Originally meant to be a basketball shoe, Converse All-Stars (commonly called "Chucks", named after Chuck Taylor) have become the single most popular style of footwear in the world. They are still a popular choice with athletes, though their use has branched far beyond that. Many boaters have began wearing Chucks, due to their grippy soles and lightweight canvas uppers. When wet, the shoe will dry out much faster than other footwear. It has even been reported that Navy Seals have worn all black Chucks before. One field where this style footwear has taken it over by storm is music. Chucks are seen all over the music industry, in every color under the sun. Even business executives are jumping on the Converse bandwagon. I've even seen women with their clutch bags and party tops wearing Chucks! It's not uncommon to see someone wearing a full suit with Chucks these days. It's no wonder why. The shoes are lightweight, comfortable, and have a look about them that no other shoe can match. Footwear fashion may come and go, but Converse All-Stars have stood the test of time, and their popularity seems to only be growing stronger.
