How the GPS Data Pusher Helps in Fleet GPS Tracking

A GPS Data pusher is the most common type of GPS tracking unit, used by tracking systems. Also called a GPS beacon, this device sends its location at regular intervals to a pre-assigned receiving server or computer that stores the information in a database. These devices are used for vehicle tracking, personnel tracking and asset tracking.

GPS data pullers are GPS transponders. The opposite of data pushers, these devices are always on standby waiting to be asked to collect and send out the information upon demand. This technology is not as widespread as data pushers and often used in situations where the location of the tracker will only need to be known occasionally such as freights or containers.

The more common use of Data Pullers are embedded in the latest cell phones which, when sent a special text message reply to the message with their location. With this device you can conveniently use your cell phone to get updates on your fleet GPS tracking.
